How We Calculate
Your CO₂ Savings

Every tonne of biomass used instead of coal avoids emissions. We calculate this precisely for each batch using actual quality data — not industry averages.

GHG Protocol Scope 3 Cat. 1 — Calculation
Coal displaced = Weight(MT) × CV(kcal/kg) ÷ 5,500
CO₂ avoided = Coal displaced × 2.42 tCO₂/t
Transport CO₂ = Distance × Weight × 0.000062

Net savings = CO₂ avoided − Transport CO₂
EXAMPLE — 100 MT COTTON STALK BRIQUETTES
Coal displaced = 100 × 4,120 ÷ 5,500 = 74.9 MT coal
CO₂ avoided = 74.9 × 2.42 = 181.3 tCO₂e
Transport (200km) = 200 × 100 × 0.000062 = 1.24 tCO₂e
Net savings = 180.1 tCO₂e
